Al-Sadd resume training after return from Qarshi
The Al-Sadd first team resumed practice at the club’s training facility on Tuesday, to launch preparations for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 20 game against Umm Salal.
The team had only reached Doha in the early hours of Tuesday, after travelling back from Qarshi, Uzbekistan where they lost 1-0 to Nasaf in the AFC Champions League Group C clash.
The coaching staff decided to give the day off for the players who had taken part in the game against Nasaf.
The following 12 players were rested: Saad Al-Dosari, Ahmed Suhail, Pedro Miguel, Abdelkarim Hassan, Hamid Ismail, Salem Al-Hajri, Khoukhi Boualem, Yasir Abubakar, Akram Afif, Jugurtha Hamroun, Baghdad Bounedjah and Ali Asad.
The remaining players underwent physical and technical training during Tuesday’s session, in addition to working on shooting and attacking moves.
Al-Sadd are currently in second place in the QNB Stars League with 46 points, ahead of the Round 20 clash with Umm Salal, which will be played on March 9.
Meanwhile, the duo of Xavi Hernandez and Morteza Pouraliganji continued with their recuperation and treatment, as they prepare to fully recover from their injuries before rejoining the team for training.
