Al-Sadd lose 1-2 to Trabzonspor in friendly
Al-Sadd were beaten 1-2 by visiting Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor in a friendly game that was held at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Sunday night.
The match was held to celebrate the friendly relations between Qatar and Turkey and also to help prepare the teams during the ongoing international break.
Colombian winger Fabian Castillo opened the scoring for Trabzonspor in the 34th minute. Castillo dribbled through the right flank and sent a shot at goal which went in after a deflection off the hands of Al-Sadd keeper Saad Al-Dosari.
After halftime, Al-Sadd made a few changes and looked to get back into the game. However, it was Trabzonspor who scored again, doubling their lead with Ugur Demirok’s header in the 54th minute.
Al-Sadd did manage to get a goal back and it came in the 82nd minute, through Khoukhi Boualem, who scored with a header to reduce the deficit.
