Al-Sadd lose 0-2 to Al-Markhiya in Round 1 of the QSL Cup
Al-Sadd’s QSL Cup campaign began with a 0-2 defeat to Al-Markhiya in the Round 1 fixture of Group B, which was played at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Wednesday.
The Wolves started the game with a team filled with U23 players, in order to give them experience in a competitive atmosphere.
Mohammed Salah scored Al-Markhiya’s first goal in the 19th minute after heading in a cross from the left.
Despite Al-Sadd’s attempts to get back into the game, the score remained the same until injury time of the second half when Al-Markhiya scored again.
In the 92nd minute, Nasser Al-Nasr netted to clinch the 2-0 win for his side.
