Al-Sadd SC football first team continued to train hard from 6 PM on Wednesday as they intensified their preparation for their upcoming QSL Round 23 game against Lekhwiya, which will be kick off at 6 PM on Sunday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
The Wednesday session saw the participation of all the Al-Sadd stars with the inclusion of Ibrahim Majid and Ali Asad, who have recovered from injuries. The coaching staff led by Jesualdo Ferreira focused on tactical aspects of the game during the session.
Ferreira also divided the squad into three groups to hold physical conditioning exercises. The players then moved on to technical drills with the ball, varying between individual and group skills in both offence and defence. It was followed by the implementation of some tactical moves, which dealt with the movement of the players on the pitch.
Goalkeepers train hard
Nando Scarpello, the Italian goalkeeping coach of Al-Sadd, worked on raising the levels of the four keepers in the squad – Saad Al-Dosari, Muhannad Naim, Steven Tedga and Mousa Mohammed. They underwent drills that focused on improving their balance and agility, in addition to also training their reflexes, reactions and their approaches to dealing with crosses and high balls.
