Al-Sadd holds main training session to prepare for Lekhwiya

The Al-Sadd football first team held its main training session from 3:30 PM on Wednesday to prepare for the upcoming match against Lekhwiya in Round 10 of the QSL. The match will kick off at 6:30 PM on Friday evening at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Al-Sadd go into the match in high spirits after registering two consecutive wins over Al-Gharafa and Al-Kharaitiyat, thereby reaching 21 points and remaining in 3rd place in the league table. As for Lekhwiya, they are in 7th place with 13 points.
The training session saw the participation of all the stars of the first team and the coaching staff ensured that they prepared the team for the big match. The players appeared to be in top shape, both physically and technically, and were in good spirits.
The coaching staff, led by Hussein Amouta, focused on tactical exercises with the ball which varied between offensive and defensive aspects. Amouta then divided the team into two groups and had them square off against each other in a practice match. The players participated in it with full vigour and were also told to employ tactics that may be used against Lekhwiya.
There was also a focus on improving the offensive efficiency during the training session. During the offensive drills, players penetrated both from deep and also from the wings. In addition to that, set-piece situations were also practiced, especially as they could be the key to winning crucial games like these.
Meeting before the session
The coaching staff held a meeting with the players before the session to talk about the important technical points concerning the match.
Amouta and Ibrahim Majid to attend press conference
Head coach Hussein Amouta and defender Ibrahim Majid are scheduled to attend the pre-match press conference for the match against Lekhwiya; it will take place at the club conference hall from 10:30 AM onwards on Thursday.
Final training session
The team will hold its final training session before the game from 5 PM on Thursday, after which Amouta will announce the list of probables for the match.
