Al-Sadd holds main training session to prepare for Al-Rayyan
The Al-Sadd football first team held its main training session on Tuesday to prepare for the upcoming Qatar Cup 2017 semifinal match against Al-Rayyan. The match is set to kick off at 7 PM on Thursday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
The training session was held in an atmosphere of great spirits with the coaching staff holding a meeting with the players, explaining to them the objectives that the team is seeking to achieve in the coming match. The coaches focused on implementing certain tactical moves, like attacking the goal and also the movement of the players. Later, the players played out a practice match between themselves in the middle of the match.
Physical training
The first team players underwent intense physical training under the supervision of fitness coach Pedro Jose in order to reach the required levels of fitness before the semifinal.
Special tactics for Bounedjah
The coaching staff also implemented special tactical moves for the attackers, with a focus on the movement of Baghdad Bounedjah and his ability to deal with crosses.
Defensive organization
Assistant coach Nuno supervised specialized training for each defender which worked on improving defensive organization and cover.
Intense training for the keepers
The three goalkeepers (Saad Al-Dosari, Muhannad Naim and Mohammed Ezzeldin) trained intensely under the supervision of goalkeeping coach Nando Scarpello, who focused on improving their agility, balance and reactions.
Ferreira and Hamed to attend presser
The pre-match press conference will be held from 10 AM on Wednesday morning at the Al-Sadd Club conference hall and will be attended by head coach Jesualdo Ferreira and defender Hamed Ismail.
Final session and squad announcement
The final training session before the game will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:30 PM at the club’s training pitch. After the session, the head coach will announce the matchday squad.
