Al-Sadd holds main training session to prepare for Al-Rayyan

​Amidst cold conditions, the football first team at Al-Sadd held its main training session on Tuesday evening to prepare for the upcoming game against Al-Rayyan in Round 12 of the QSL. The match is set to kick off at 6:30 PM on Thursday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Al-Sadd go into the match sitting in third place in the league table with 21 points, having lost their last match 1-2 to Al-Sailiya, whereas Al-Rayyan are the table toppers with 33 points from 11 consecutive victories.

Head coach Jesualdo Ferreira was keen to select his options for the first XI, especially as the match is going to be a match of epic proportions that will require spirit and desire from the players.

On a related note, the attacking role was given a great deal of importance during the training session with a focus on attacking moves from deep or from the wings. Many players turned out excellent performances. Meanwhile, there was also importance given to dead ball situations as they are one of the prime solutions in crucial matches like this, which requires excellent players with the ability to shoot from outside the box.
