Al-Sadd hold main training session ahead of Al-Wakrah clash

The Al Sadd first team held their main training session on Tuesday, at the club’s secondary pitch, in preparation for the upcoming clash against Al Wakrah in Week 12 of the QNB Stars League. The match will kick off at 4:10 PM at the Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.

Al-Sadd go into the game in high spirits after their big 5-1 victory over Al-Gharafa in their last game. The Wolves are in fourth place in the table with 18 points, with two games in hand against Al-Arabi and Al-Khor. Al-Wakrah is in ninth place with 12 points. The first phase match between the two sides ended in a 4-1 win for the Wolves.

Tuesday’s main training session saw head coach Xavi and his staff work on preparing the players technically and physically. There was a focus on technical skill exercises before moving on to a practice mini game. The coaching staff were also keen to give attention to offensive strategies.

Al-Sadd’s head of football Mohammad Ghanem Al-Ali was present at the session on Tuesday to show his support for the team ahead of the game.

The team is now scheduled to hold their last session from 5:30 PM onwards on Wednesday at the secondary pitch, after which the coach will announce the matchday squad.

Al-Sadd defender Abdulkarim Hassan will be available for selection, after missing the last game against Al-Gharafa due to suspension, following his dismissal in the match against Esperance in the FIFA Club World Cup 2019.

Meanwhile, the press conference for the Al-Wakrah clash has been scheduled for 4 PM on Wednesday at the Al Sadd Club Conference Hall, with Xavi and Nam Tae-hee set to attend.
