Al-Sadd delegation set to leave for Austria with 24-member squad
The Al-Sadd first team delegation is set to depart for Austria on Thursday, July 20 in order to begin preparations at the 2017-18 preseason training camp, which will be held in the Bad Haring region and will last until August 5.
The delegation consists of 24 players, in addition to coaches, management officials and staff.
The 24 players are as follows: Khoukhi Boualem, Baghdad Bounedjah, Morteza Pouraliganji, Pedro Miguel, Hassan Al-Haydos, Ibrahim Majid, Musab Khodr, Yasser Abubakr, Jugurtha Hamroun, Mohamed Kasola, Ali Asad, Ahmed Sayyar, Hassan Ahmed, Mohammed Waad, Ghassan Waheed, Ayoob Mashhoor, Abdulaziz Al-Jalabi, Saoud Al-Nasr, Jackson Alan, Jehad Hadhib, Hatem Kamal, Abdullah Jannaat, Fahad Shanin, Xavi
Three other players – Salem Al-Hajri, Meshaal Barsham and Meshaal Al-Shammari – will join the squad on July 25 after the end of their participation with the Qatar U23 team at the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers taking place in Doha.
The coaching staff on the delegation consists of Jesualdo Ferreira (head coach), Nuno Almeida (assistant coach), Jose Pedro (fitness coach), Pedro Antonio (technical analyst), Hesham Zahed (assistant coach), Ibrahim Boughanemi (technical analyst), Joao Marcos (fitness coach).
The team management will be represented by Mohammed Gholam Al-Baloushi (sporting director), Abdullah Al-Breik (first team manager), Ahmed Al-Ansari (media officer) and Mohammed Saeed (first team officer).
The medical staff accompanying the team consists of Mohammed Soltani (team doctor), Hussein Manae (physiotherapist), Akram Abid (physiotherapist), Admir (masseur) and Ritchie (masseur).
Also accompanying the squad are the representatives of the club website Samir Shawky and Mina Fayiz, in addition to helpers Abdulwaheed, Mousa and Yaris.
Al-Sadd are set to play three friendly matches during the Austrian camp. The first will be played against Goztepe (Turkey) on July 26 while the second match is to be played on July 30 against a yet to be named opponent. On August 3, the team will play its final preseason friendly against Italian side Bologna.
During their time in Austria, the team will be based in the Bad Häring region, close to the city of Wörgl on the Austria-Germany border. This is the first time that Al-Sadd are training in this region. The city is only 45 minutes away from Munich and is situated in a mountainous region. The squad will stay at the Hotel Das Sieben for the duration of the camp.
