Al-Sadd defeat Mesaimeer 2-1 in friendly

Al-Sadd football first team defeated Mesaimeer 2-1 in a friendly game which was played on Thursday as part of the preparation for the new 2016/17 Qatar Stars League campaign.

Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah opened the scoring in the 45th minute with a solo effort before Mesaimeer equalized just a minute later. Bounedjah added another goal to the scoreline at the stroke of the halftime whistle. Al-Sadd defender Ibrahim Majid missed a penalty earlier in the 40th minute.

With the start of the second half, Al-Sadd looked to attack the Mesaimeer goal on multiple occasions but the score remained 2-1.

Al-Sadd started the match with the following lineup: Muhannad Naim, Ibrahim Majid, Ahmed Sohail, Ali Faydh, Ayoob Mashhoor, Gaser Yahya, Xavi, Hossam Kamal, Abdulaziz Al-Jalabi, Meshaal Al-Shammari, Baghdad Bounedjah.

Nasser Al-Nasr and Mohammed Waad came on as substitutes in the second half.
