The football first team at Al Sadd achieved a great and deserved 5 – 1 victory over Al-Markhiya in a friendly match held on Thursday evening at the secondary pitch of the club.

Al-Sadd impressed from the start and managed to impose its control on the match, dominating with a variety of offensive moves, from deep and also from the wing. However, there was no real threat to the Al-Markhiya goal except for a shot by Xavi in ​the 11th minute and a Hamza al-Senhaji header in the 27th, as the first half ended goalless.

With the start of the second half, the Wolves put pressure on their opponents until the Brazilian Muriqui succeeded in netting the first goal in the 50th minute from the penalty spot, before Xavi added a second from inside the box four minutes later. Al-Markhiya reduced the deficit from with a penalty which was dispatched by striker Leonardo, in the 57th minute.

The Wolves continued their attacking performance and more goals arrived. Jaser scored the third goal in the 59th minute before the fourth was added by Hamza al-Senhaji from the penalty spot in the 61st. Nasser Sankees scored the final goal in the 80th minute with wonderful solo effort, to end the match 5 – 1 in favour of Al-Sadd.

Al-Sadd began the match with the following XI: Mousa Mohammed, Abdulrahman Nasser, Jaser Yahya, Ahmed al-Herdi, Omar Yahya, Talal al-Baloushi, Xavi, Hamad Mansour, Nadir Belhadj, Muriqui and Hamza al-Senhaji.
The second half saw the entry of substitutes Hamad Mansour, Meshaal al-Shammari, Aladdin Younis, Nasser Sankees, Ayoob Mashhoor and Abdullah al-Meseiki.
