Al-Sadd continues winning, defeats Al-Kharaitiyat 4-2

In an exciting match held at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Al-Sadd triumphed 4-2 over Al-Kharaitiyat in Round 9 of the QSL. With this result, Al-Sadd raised their tally to 21 points and remained in third place in the league table.
Al-Sadd opened the scoring through Ibrahim Majid in the 17th minute before Yahia Kebe scored twice in two minutes to put Al-Kharaitiyat in front by the 34th minute. Khalfan Ibrahim equalized for Al-Sadd with a penalty at the stroke of halftime.
In the second half, Al-Sadd put constant pressure on the Kharaitiyat goal which resulted in two goals – Abdulkarim Hassan and Hassan al-Haydos scoring in the 72nd and 75th minutes. The match thus ended 4-2 in favour of the Wolves.
Good start for the Wolves, Ibra scores
Al-Sadd started the match very well and were able to dominate the proceedings with ease. In the 9th minute, they were denied a penalty when the referee refused to give a foul after Ali Asad was brought down. In the 15th minute, Khalfan sent a cross to the unmarked Muriqui but the defence was able to clear the danger.
Ibrahim Majid then managed to give Al-Sadd the lead in the 17th minute. The defender headed in a corner delivered by Xavi to open the scoring. Al-Sadd continued to dominate and Xavi almost added to the scoreline with a powerful shot from outside the box.
Kebe scores a brace, Khalfan equalizes
In the 33rd minute, Yahia Kebe popped up to bundle the ball in and equalize for Al-Kharaitiyat before getting one more just a minute later to put his team ahead. After that, Al-Sadd intensified the pressure on the opponent goal and eventually were awarded a penalty in the 45th minute for a foul on Hassan al-Haydos by keeper Ahmed Sufyan. Khalfan Ibrahim dispatched the spot kick with composure to send the teams into the tunnel with the scores level at halftime.
Abdulkarim comes on
With the beginning of the second half, Al-Sadd made its first change, bringing on Abdulkarim Hassan instead of Gaser Yahya. Abdulkarim took his place as the left back and Nadir Belhadj moved to central midfield alongside Ali Asad. In the 50th minute, al-Haydos had a chance when he penetrated from the left and sent a powerful shot which went wide of the right post.
Al-Sadd attempts, Al-Kharaitiyat remains on guard
Al-Sadd continued to make attempts to take the upper hand by putting constant pressure on the opponent goal but there was no real danger. The Al-Kharaitiyat defence was staying strong. In the 65th minute, substitute Abdulkarim went up on the left and sent a cross which was met by Nadir but Ahmed Sufyan lapped up the ball. In the 68th minute, Al-Sadd made their second change and Ali Asad was replaced by Nasser Ibrahim.
Karim and Al-Haydos score the 3rd and 4th
Al-Sadd returned to the lead after Abdulkarim managed to head in another corner from Xavi to score the third goal for Al-Sadd in the 72nd minute. The three points were confirmed a couple of minutes later when Hassan al-Haydos picked up a Xavi pass and lashed home from the left scoring the fourth and final goal. Al-Sadd maintained their dominance and saw off the remaining period to register a 4-2 win.
