Al-Sadd continue training, Morteza joins Iran squad
The Al-Sadd football first team continued its preseason preparations with a training session on Monday at the club’s training facility. This followed the resumption of training on Sunday after the two-day period of rest given to the players after the 8-0 friendly win against Al-Shamal.
Monday’s training session began at 6:30 PM and saw the available players (amidst the continued absence of the Qatar national team players) undergo exercises in the gym to strengthen their physical condition.
In the second part of the session, the focus shifted to training with the ball. The players worked on both offense and defense, in addition to playing out a practice match between themselves.
On Sunday, the players had resumed training and worked on tactics and strategy, especially with regards to movement.
Meanwhile, Al-Sadd defender Morteza Pouraliganji left Doha in order to join the Iranian national team which is preparing to face Korea Republic and Syria in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
