Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Wakrah; Khalfan and Hamed miss out on squad
The Al-Sadd football first team concluded its preparations for the upcoming game against Al-Wakrah with a final training session that began at 5:30 PM on Saturday at the club’s training pitch.
The game against Al-Wakrah in Round 7 of the Qatar Stars League is set to kick off at 4 PM on Sunday at the Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Al-Wakrah.
The coaching staff implemented the physical & training routine on Saturday, in addition to light technical drills and movement excercises in small areas. Later, head coach Jesualdo Ferreira made the players play out a practice match between themselves where the focus was on moving the ball continuously with maximum touches.
After the end of the session, Ferreira announced the 18-man squad for the match: Saad Al-Dosari, Muhannad Naim, Morteza Pouraliganji, Mohammed Kasola, Ibrahim Majid, Hussam Kamal, Abdelkarim Hassan, Jugurtha Hamroun, Xavi Hernandez, Hassan Al-Haydos, Baghdad Bounedjah, Ali Asad, Pedro, Salem Al-Hajri, Gaser Yahya, Musab Kheder, Hassan Balank, Meshaal Qasim.
Khalfan continues with preparation; illness rules out Hamed
Khalfan Ibrahim missed out on the squad for the Al-Wakrah game as he is still continuing with his preparations after returning from an ankle injury and participating in group training for the first time on Friday.
Meanwhile, Hamed Ismail was also ruled out of the squad after an illness which kept him out of the final training session on Saturday.
Meshaal returns; Hassan Balank makes first appearance in squad
The Al-Sadd squad announcement saw the return of Meshaal Al-Shammari to action following the end of his one-month suspension while youth team attacker Hassan Balank made his first ever appearance in the senior squad.
After the session, the team left for a closed camp at the Movenpick Hotel where they will stay until the time of departure for the match.
