Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Sailiya, Finland legend Litmanen visits the team
Al-Sadd wrapped up preparations for the upcoming game against Al-Sailiya with a final training session on Monday evening at the club’s training facility. The postponed QNB Stars League Round 3 game will be played on Tuesday at the Al-Janoub Stadium, with kick-off slated for 6:55 PM.
Head coach Xavi Hernandez announced the 18-man matchday squad after the end of the training session. The squad is as follows: Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Ahmed Sayyar, Ali Asad, Hussain Bahzad, Hassan Al-Haydos, Baghdad Bounedjah, Hamed Ismail, Gabi, Tarek Salman, Khoukhi Boualem, Salem Al-Hajri, Akram Afif, Nam Tae-hee, Jung Woo-young, Yasir Abubakar, Hashim Ali, Khaled Al-Yazidi
Later, the squad left for a camp at the Torch hotel, where they will stay overnight before leaving for the game tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the team was visited on Monday by Finland legend Jari Litmanen who is on a trip to Doha. Litmanen caught up with his old teammate Xavi, having played alongside him at Barcelona between 1999 and 2001.
Litmanen is one of the greatest players in Finland’s history and was selected as the country’s best in the past fifty years by the Finnish FA. He appeared for many top clubs in Europe, including Barcelona, Ajax and Liverpool.
