Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Sailiya, Bounedjah misses out on squad
Al-Sadd concluded preparations on Thursday ahead of the QNB Stars League Round 2 match against Al-Sailiya. The match is set to be played at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium on Friday.
Thursday’s final training session was held without Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah, who is unfit and will miss the game due to the injury that he picked up in the Sheikh Jassim Cup match with Al-Duhail. Meanwhile, defender Fahad Shanin made his return to the matchday squad after missing the last game against Al-Markhiya due to injury.
During the session, the Al-Sadd coaching staff focused on the physical aspects, in addition to some light skill training. The players also underwent various reaction exercises. The squad was then divided into two teams, who played out a mini match at the centre of the pitch. Following the end of the session, the squad left for a closed camp at the Westin Hotel, where they will stay until the departure for the match on Friday.
Later, head coach Jesualdo Ferreira announced the matchday squad which consists of 18 players: Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Musab Kheder, Xavi, Hassan Al-Haydos, Meshaal Al-Shammari, Salem Al-Hajri, Yasser Abubakar, Hatem Kamal, Saoud Ibrahim, Ghassan Waheed, Boualem Khoukhi, Ali Asad, Ahmed Bader Sayyar, Fahad Shanin, Morteza Pouraliganji, Jugurtha Hamroun and Pedro Miguel.
