Al-Sadd begin preparations for Al-Gharafa with 6 players
The Al-Sadd football first team resumed training at the club training pitch on Sunday after a day off following the 4-2 win over Muaither in the QSL Round 4 match played on Friday.
The Wolves will now prepare for the upcoming QSL Round 5 match against Al-Gharafa, which will be played on the 29th of October at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium.
Sunday’s session involved 6 players only (Jugurtha Hamroun, Baghdad Bounedjah, Hussam Kamal, Xavi Hernandez, Morteza Pouraliganji and Meshaal Al-Shammari) as the rest of the the team is unavailable – 10 players are with the Qatar national team while the reserve team players got a day off following their match in the QatarGas League.
Physical & technical training
The session saw the players undergo light running drills followed by stretching and agility exercises. Later, they moved on to training with the ball.
10 players with the national team
10 Al-Sadd players are currently away with the Qatar national team at a two-day camp. They are: Saad Al-Dosari, Ibrahim Majid, Pedro, Abdelkarim Hassan, Mohammed Kasola, Salem Al-Hajri, Hamed Ismail, Ali Asad, Hassan Al-Haydos and Musab Kheder.
Khalfan recuperates; medical test for Al-Jalabi
Khalfan Ibrahim continued to recuperate at the club clinic and did not participate in training on Sunday. He had earlier missed the game against Muaither due to a bruise to his knee which he sustained during training prior to the match.
Meanwhile, Abdulaziz Al-Jalabi will undergo a medical test in order to determine the extent of the injury he sustained during the QatarGas League match against Al-Gharafa.
Rest for the reserves
The reserve team players were given a day off from training on Sunday after playing the QatarGas League match against Al-Gharafa on Saturday, which the Wolves won 3-0. The players will return to training on Monday.
Al-Sadd stay on top
Al-Sadd will go into their next match against Al-Gharafa in high spirits after their previous win gave them the top spot in the league after the end of Round 4.
