Al-Haydos: Proud to play in the first match at the new Khalifa Stadium

Al-Sadd attacker Hassan Al-Haydos spoke of the importance of his side’s upcoming clash against Al-Rayyan in the final of the 2017 Emir Cup, which will be played at the Khalifa International Stadium on Friday.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Al-Haydos said: “It is a very important match for us and also for Al-Rayyan. I think Al-Sadd displayed a very good level of performance in the recent period. The next match is going to completely different from the league and the Qatar Cup matches. Our aim is to win and get the title.”

He added: “It is a big honour to play in one of the 2022 World Cup stadiums and I will always be proud of this, on a personal level.”

As for Al-Sadd’s run of wins over Al-Rayyan recently, Al-Haydos said: “We achieved many victories against Al-Rayyan this season. But this won’t be in our minds when we play the final, as it is a different tournament and requires a special approach from all the players.”
