Al-Haydos: Fans have right to blame us, we need their support

Al-Sadd star Hassan al-Haydos has reiterated the difficulty of the upcoming match against Al-Arabi in Round 7 of the Qatar Stars League, which will be played on Saturday at the Abdulla bin Khalifa Stadium. He pointed out that the Wolves were determined to compensate for what has happened in recent rounds, especially after draws against Umm Salal and Al-Khor that resulted in the team losing 4 points in the title race.

The attacker stressed that Al-Sadd was in great need of the support of its fans against Al-Arabi, especially since the match is a derby that is special to Qatari football fans, who have been following the excitement of the matches and the rivalry between the two teams. He noted that the attendance in the derby on Saturday will make the match more exciting, especially with the desire of everyone at Al-Sadd not to lose further ground in the title race.

Al-Haidos, who was named Best Player in Qatar last season, also said that the tie has always been exciting. He said: “It is a summit clash that has been exciting and we need to work hard to be focussed and in top condition to get three more points in a title race that is seeing fierce competition. Fans have every right to blame us and we promise them that we will give our best in the coming matches to show our worth. All that we are hoping for is great fan support, starting from the match against Al-Arabi on Saturday.”

He went on to add that the Al-Sadd fans have always been our prime support and the biggest motivator for all the titles the team has won. He said: “Al-Sadd fans are not smaller or lesser than those of any other team, and so we expect them to be at the match against Al-Arabi.”

Concluding his talk to the club website, Al-Haidos said: “This season is completely different from previous seasons in light of the readiness of a number of teams. We need to be patient and perform better in order to compete strongly for the QSL title, which we are aiming to return to the club.”
