Al-Breik: Al-Sadd devises its strategy for success and we follow in its footsteps

​Abdulla al-Breik had a fantastic career as a player at Al-Sadd, winning many trophies and making unforgettable memories. After his playing days got over, he has started work at his club as the team manager and is now looking to repeat the earlier successes in a new role.

In an exclusive chat with the official website, Al-Breik spoke about the importance of the preseason preparatory phase and the targets of the club ahead of the upcoming season.

Al-Breik first took the opportunity to point out the great atmosphere at the training camp in Kaprun, saying that it was an ideal place to prepare for the new season. He said that preparations were in full swing and proceeding in the right direction.

As for the targets for the upcoming season, Al-Breik said that Al-Sadd would be aiming to win all titles. There would be no excuse for failure and winning only the Emir Cup last year was not enough.
The team manager is confident of the current crop of players, saying that he only fears injuries which could derail title hopes.

Regarding the arrival of Xavi, Al-Breik said that the Spanish star was a superb addition to the team and also to Qatari football. The game in the country can benefit from his presence. His signing follows with Al-Sadd policy, which has earlier resulted in the signing of stars like Romario and Raul as a way to improving Al-Sadd and Qatari football.
As for his best personal memories with his team, Al-Breik reminisced about the notable 2006/07 season, when he was part of the team which won all four domestic trophies under the stewardship of Uruguayan coach Jorge Fossati.
