AFC Champions League: Ferreira announces the squad for Nasaf clash
The Al-Sadd matchday squad for the upcoming AFC Champions League game against Nasaf was announced on Monday evening. Spanish midfielder Xavi is set to make his return to action after being named in the squad, following his recovery from a muscle injury.
Al-Sadd will host Nasaf in the Group C fixture on Matchday Four of the tournament on Tuesday, with kick-off slated for 6:15 PM at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Iranian international defender Morteza Pouraliganji continues to be out of action and he was not named in the squad, as he is yet to recover fully from an injury he sustained in the league game against Al-Ahli.
The squad announcement was made following Monday’s final training session, during which the players worked on physical and technical aspects, in addition to holding a mini practice game.
The 18-man matchday squad is as follows: Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Yasir Abubakar, Pedro Miguel, Baghdad Bounedjah, Xavi, Bahaa Al-Lithi, Khoukhi Boualem, Hamid Ismail, Jugurtha Hamroun, Ali Asad, Abdelkarim Hassan, Akram Afif, Musab Kheder, Salem Al-Hajri, Hassan Ahmed, Ahmed Suhail, Hassan Al-Haydos
Later, the team left for a closed camp at the Westin Doha Hotel, where they will stay until the time of departure for the game.
