ACL Draw: “It’s a balanced draw” – Abdullah Al-Breik
Al-Sadd first team manager Abdullah Al-Breik described the 2018 AFC Champions League group stage draw as “balanced” after the Wolves were placed in Group C alongside Persepolis (Iran), Al-Wasl (UAE) and the winner of the play-off between Nasaf (Uzbekistan) and Al-Faisaly (Jordan).
“The draw is balanced for all teams and the chances are equal, with the competition set to be fierce between the teams looking to win the most prestigious title in Asia,” said Al-Breik. “All the teams will always strive to give their best.”
As for Al-Sadd, he felt that the team is fully prepared for the campaign. “We are fully ready for the Asian campaign, especially after the injured players return, which will make us stronger and push us to give our best.”
Asked about the AFC’s decision to avoid play on neutral grounds, the Al-Sadd team manager said: “We welcome all the clubs to Qatar and whoever refuses this, that’s their problem which must be resolved with the AFC and not with us.”
