Abdullah Al-Breik: The derby has its specialty; I’m very confident about the players
Al-Sadd first team manager Abdullah Al-Breik spoke to the club website ahead of the team’s upcoming derby match with Al-Arabi, saying that he was confident in the players’ abilities.
Speaking after Wednesday’s main training session, Al-Breik said: “We have a lot of confidence in the Wolves. The match against Al-Arabi is a derby and has its special value for fans of both teams. Everyone expects it to be an intense and entertaining match. The Al-Sadd players have the responsibility to give their best and get the win, so as to continue on top of the league table.”
He added: “We expect the team to give its best. Although they have won their last four games, everyone expects a better peformance from the team, especially when you compare with last season.”
Al-Breik also said: “All that the Al-Sadd team needs now is for the players to spend time with each other and increase the coordination and harmony. This hasn’t happened since the preseason period. The international break kept our players away and this affected our training programme.”
The discussion then moved back to the game against Al-Arabi, which Al-Breik feels will be a difficult game despite Al-Arabi’s league position. “This game always has its speciality, regardless of league position or any other situation. At Al-Sadd, we respect Al-Arabi a lot and we will work hard to give our best in order to get the win. I am confident in the players’ abilities.”
The former Al-Sadd defender concluded by saying: “All the league matches are difficult, including the upcoming game against Al-Arabi. We hope the Wolves will be at their best level so as to win.”
