Abdullah Al-Breik: The camp in Austria is going well, our ambitions know no limits
Al-Sadd first team manager Abdullah Al-Breik feels that his side is in great shape going into the new 2018-19 season, after a series of intense training sessions at the ongoing preseason camp in Austria.
Speaking to the club website, Al-Breik said: “The training camp in Bad Haring, Austria fulfills the objectives that we have set out for the pre-season preparation. Everything is going well and the coaching staff are able to prepare the team in an ideal manner. All the players are doing their jobs well and are in great spirits at the camp.”
“We must prepare well for the new season; the players need to benefit fully from the camp so as to be ready before the start of the season. We are looking to have a great start, as we have all the players with us and this allows us to increase the harmony and teamwork, while also giving the coach multiple options,” added Al-Breik.
He also said: “Therefore, we need to work hard to achieve our objectives. We have a lot of important tournaments coming up, with the AFC Champions League obviously being the most important, in addition to the QNB Stars League.”
“Everyone on the team knows the importance of the AFC Champions League, in which we hope to go far.”
Al-Breik also shared his view on the preseason friendlies, with Al-Sadd having played two such matches so far during camp, against MSV Duisburg and NK Radomlje. “We played two good matches. The goal from these matches is to improve coordination and this is happening gradually as we play.”
He added: “We need to benefit from these matches, as almost all the players are able to participate. The coach has tried to give everyone an opportunity to taste the action. This phase is a very crucial part of the season for all the players on the team.”
The team manager concluded by saying: “All the players are working hard during the preseason camp, as per the training programme that has been set by the coaching staff. We hope we can get the fruits of this work at the start of the season in August, especially as our ambitions for the new season know no limits.”
