11 Al-Sadd players called up to the national team

Qatar national team coach Felix Sanchez has called announced a 24-member squad for the upcoming games against Afghanistan and India in the joint qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup China 2023.

The squad consists of 11 Al-Sadd players: Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Abdelkarim Hassan, Tarek Salman, Hassan Al-Haydos, Akram Afif, Salem Al-Hajri, Khoukhi Boualem, Hashim Ali, Abdulaziz Al-Ansari

Qatar play Afghanistan on 5 September and then India on 10 September, at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Al-Sadd first team has been given five days off as rest following the 7-1 win over Al-Shahaniya in Week 2 of the QNB Stars League.

The team will resume training on 6 September, in order to prepare for the upcoming AFC Champions League quarter-final second leg clash with Al-Nassr, which is set to be played on 16 September.
