Al-Sadd Head of Football Mohammed Ghanem al-Ali has spoken of his great confidence in the ability of the team to navigate through this period of unsatisfactory results in the last two matches and overcome them in the match against Al-Rayyan on Thursday. He said: “I see in the eye of the players a grat desire to make their fans happy and I hope it is achieved during the 90 minutes on the pitch.”
As for the comments made by Al-Rayyan president Sheikh Saoud bin Khalid, al-Ali said: “I have not heard or read his comments and they do not mean anything to me. I have been working here for more than 15 years, working on the pitch for Al-Sadd club through my role as Head of Football. My goal is to put smiles on the faces of the fans by winning titles and not through comments. As for stirring comments and headlines, there are people who do that but by nature I am not one of them.”
Al-Ali went on to add: “I know Al-Rayyan well and I know its history. They must be respected and their fans must be respected; this is what our matches are known for.”
