2nd Ramadan Football Tournament concludes
The Cultural Association at Al-Sadd SC has concluded the 2nd Ramadan Football Tournament, which was held in the indoor arena of the club. Ahmed Al-Sayed, head of the Cultural Association gave away the prizes for the top three teams at the end of the tournament. The Skyper team won first place after a deserved 5-0 win over Leicester City who finished second. In third place was the Annabi team who defeated Lusail 3-1. The winners received QR 6000 as prize money while the runners up were awarded QR 5000 and the third placed team QR 4000. Waleed Al-Yafei from Skyper was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Qayed Al-Hajjaji of Skyper was chosen as the best player of the tournament while Raed Mohammed Ahmed of Lusail won the top scorer award. All three of them were awarded cash prizes of QR 1000 each. Speaking at the end of the prize giving ceremony, Ahmed Al-Sayed said that the tournament was successful and was conducted in the best way as planned. He went on to congratulate the winning team while also saluting the other teams in the tournament. Al-Sayed also said that the two-week tournament witnessed a lot of excitement and competition between the participating teams. A total of 120 players took part in the tournament, playing in 20 different teams. The teams were divided into four groups of five teams each. The tournament was held between June 16 and June 30. |
