FIFA Club World Cup: Al-Sadd holds main training session before Hienghene Sport clash
The Al-Sadd first team held their main training session on Monday from 5:15 PM onwards at the club’s secondary training pitch, as part of the ongoing preparations for the clash with Oceania champions Hienghene Sport in the opening game of the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019.
The match is set to be played on Wednesday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Al-Sadd enter the tournament as host representative, having won the QNB Stars League in the 2018-19 season. Qatar will also host the tournament next year.
During Monday’s main training session, the coaching staff focused on selecting their options for the starting XI, with all the players available and no injuries.
Head coach Xavi Hernandez worked on correcting the players’ errors in movement, and he also intervened during the practice mini-game to implement certain strategies.
Before the start of the session, Xavi and his staff met with the players and explained the technical details of the upcoming game, which will be a big test for the Wolves.
Meanwhile, Xavi and Tarek Salman have been confirmed to attend the pre-match press conference, which will be held at 3:45 PM at the Al-Sadd conference hall.
