Ferreira: Muaither won’t be easy opposition; we need to be careful to win

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira addressed the media on Wednesday, speaking of the difficulty of the upcoming QSL Round 4 game against Muaither. The game is set to be played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Friday.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “For us, all the matches are tough, be it against Lekhwiya or Muaither. The important thing is to focus on my team and to prepare well for the match. The Al-Sadd players should not take it easy and should give its best to get the points.”

He went on to add: “Al-Sadd are among the big teams in Qatar and are always looking to win. We need to work in order to overtake El-Jaish and reach the top spot. Winning over Muaither will give us three important points; it will be important for us to return to winning ways after the draw against Lekhwiya.”

The Al-Sadd coach also spoke of the psychological aspect of the game, saying: “We work seriously to inculcate a winning mentality in the players, regardless of the opponent. This is difficult on a personal and psychological level but I am happy that the Al-Sadd players have got used to it since last season. They are capable of improving further to work well with this sort of a culture.”

Ferreira concluded by saying: “Facing Muaither will be tough. We need to be careful and alert in order to get the win and the three points that will get closer to the top.”
