Day off on Thursday; internationals to return on Friday
The players of the Al-Sadd football first team were given a day off on Thursday following the recent intense period of training as part of the preparation for the upcoming QSL game against Al-Wakrah on November 20. Al-Sadd are currently in second place in the league standings with 14 points from 6 rounds.
The Wolves are scheduled to resume training at 5:30 PM on Friday at the club’s training pitch.
Intense training
On Wednesday, the team trained intensely under the supervision of the head coach Jesualdo Ferreira. The focus was on applying certain tactical moves. Ferreira then went on to divide the group into two teams who played a practice match between each other.
Khalfan returns to group training
Khalfan Ibrahim took part in Wednesday’s session after returning to group training following his recovery from injury. After warming up with the group, he underwent muscle exercises with the help of weights.
Khalfan had earlier suffered a knee injury before the QSL Round 4 game against Muaither, which ended in 4-2 win for Al-Sadd.
Olympic team trio return
The trio of Qatar national Olympic team members – Meshaal Al-Shammari, Hatem Kamal and Hussam Kamal – returned to the squad after the end of the national team camp which included a friendly game against Oman Olympic team.
Internationals set for return on Friday
The group of eight Qatar senior national team players will return to the Al-Sadd squad for training on Friday after the end of their international duty in the past week, which saw the national team draw 0-0 with China in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Morteza returns to Doha; set to join training on Friday
Iranian defender Morteza Pouraliganji returned to Doha on Wednesday after completing his international duty with Iran for the 2018 World Cup qualifier with Syria, which ended in a 0-0 draw. He is set to join the squad for training on Friday.
