The Al-Sadd first team intensified their preparations on Monday, ahead of the upcoming clash against Al-Gharafa in Round 22 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League. The match will be played on Thursday at Al Janoub Stadium.
The coaching staff worked on increasing the intensity of the training, with a focus on technical drills that dealt with the movement of the players.
In the second half of Monday’s practice session, head coach Xavi Hernandez implemented a practice game in the middle of the pitch, during which the focus was on changing the tempo, and transferring the ball quickly to the offensive half, while also paying attention to the defensive aspects.
Meanwhile, Akram Afif returned to training with the squad after recovering from an ankle injury which had kept him out of action after the game against Al-Khor in Round 18 of the league.
Afif had undergone treatment and rehabilitation training under the supervision of the first team’s medical staff, before receiving approval to participate in the group training following his full recovery.
