The Al-Sadd football first team concluded the 2018-19 QNB Stars League campaign with a 6-1 win over Umm Salal in the 22nd and final round game, which was played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday.

The result means that Al-Sadd finish with a final points tally of 57, after 18 wins, three draws and a single defeat.

Akram Afif netted a brace for Al-Sadd, while Khoukhi Boualem, Hassan Al-Haydos, Hassan Ahmed and Ali Asad also got on the scoresheet. Yannick Sagbo scored the lone goal for Umm Salal.

After a calm start to the game, Boualem headed Al-Sadd in front after a free kick floated in by Afif in the 30th minute. Four minutes later, skipper Sagbo equalised for Umm Salal with a fierce low effort past Meshaal Barsham in the Al-Sadd goal.

Al-Sadd were then awarded a penalty following a handball which was confirmed by the VAR in the 41st minute. Al-Haydos stepped up and made no mistake from the spot to give the hosts the lead once again.

In the second half, Al-Sadd kept up the pressure and were rewarded with more goals.
Hassan Ahmed marked his start with an acrobatic finish from close range to make it 3-1 in the 57th minute. Afif then scored Al-Sadd’s fourth with a quick reaction to slam in the rebound after substitute Baghdad Bounedjah’s initial shot was blocked.

In the 65th minute, Ali Asad got on the scoresheet with a drive into the top corner before Afif wrapped up the scoring with a calm finish in the 69th minute, that brought up a century of goals for Al-Sadd in this season.
