Bounedjah breaks goalscoring record

Al-Sadd’s Algerian star Baghdad Bounedjah broke the record for the most number of goals scored in a single Qatari league game after netting seven times in the 10-1 win over Al-Arabi in the QNB Stars League Round 2 clash on Sunday.

Iraqi striker Younis Mahmoud had earlier held the record with a six-goal performance, but that place has been snatched by Bounedjah after he put seven past Al-Arabi. The seven goals also opened up a huge lead for Bounedjah at the top of the league goalscoring charts for the season, as he now has ten goals from two games.

At the end of the Al-Arabi game, Bounedjah was awarded two match balls as a recognition of his fantastic effort.
