Al-Sadd set to leave for overseas camp in Austria on Thursday
The Al-Sadd football first team delegation is all set to leave for Austria on Thursday, to hold their overseas preseason camp as part of the preparations for the 2018-19 season. The camp will take place in the Austrian town of Bad Haring from the 12th of July to the 28th of the same month.
The team will depart from Doha at dawn on Thursday, flying to Munich airport before travelling by bus to Bad Haring.
26 players will be part of the Al-Sadd squad for the preseason camp. They are as follows: Musab Kheder, Khoukhi Boualem, Hassan Ahmed, Hatem Kamal, Ali Asad, Hamid Ismail, Saoud Al-Hajri, Hassan Al-Haydos, Akram Afif, Ahmed Suhail, Ghassan Waheed, Pedro Miguel, Yasser Abubakar, Baghdad Bounedjah, Meshaal Barsham, Saoud Al-Nasr, Ahmed Sayyar, Jugurtha Hamroun, Ibrahim Majid, Abdelkarim Hassan, Salem Al-Hajri, Hamza Al-Sanhaji, Jehad Mohammed, Jung Woo-young, Xavi Hernandez, Gabi Fernandez.
The delegation will also consist of coaching, technical and medical staff, in addition to management officials. Club sporting director Mohammed Gholam, first team manager Abdullah Al-Breik, media officer Ahmed Al-Ansari, first team officer Mohammed Saeed and U23 team manager Abdulaziz Al-Jeaidi will represent the management, while head coach Jesualdo Ferreira will lead the coaching staff. Ferreira will be accompanied by assistant coach Nuno Almeida, fitness coach Jose Pedro, performance analyst Pedro, U23 coach Hesham Zahed, goalkeeping coach Eduardo Perez and technical analyst Ibrahim Boughanemi.
In addition to the above, the delegation will also include team doctor Mohammed Soltani, physiotherapist Hussain Almanae, masseurs Ritchie and Admir, club website representatives Samir Shawky and Mina Fayiz, and team helpers Yaris Miah, Waheed Abdulmalik and Abdulkarim Abdulmalik.
The team had earlier chosen Bad Haring as the location for the overseas camp after consulting Ferreira. Bad Haring is situated near the Austrian-Germany border and is just a 45 minute drive away from Munich. The town will host the Al-Sadd camp for the second consecutive season, with the team set to reside at Hotel Das Sieben for the duration of the camp.
During the camp, Al-Sadd will play three friendlies against opponents that are yet to be finalized. The frist match will be played on 19 July, the second on the 23rd and the final game on the 27th of the same month.
Al-Sadd’s nine Qatar international players are set to join the squad in Austria after the end of their national team training session on Thursday. The players are Meshaal Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Ibrahim Majid, Abdelkarim Hassan, Ali Asad, Khoukhi Boualem, Hassan Al-Haydos, Akram Afif, Salem Al-Hajri.
Meanwhile, Saad Al-Dosari will continue his treatment under the supervision of the national team medical staff after undergoing surgery at the end of the last season.
