Ferreira: Al-Duhail clinched the league after defeating us, our focus now is on Nasaf

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira praised his side’s youngsters despite the 2-1 defeat to Umm Salal in the QNB Stars League.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ferreira said: “There is not a lot to talk about today’s game. We were the better side in the first half. We missed many chances. The only positive thing is that a number of young Qataris played and this is of huge benefit for Al-Sadd and the Qatar national teams in the future.”

He added: “Everyone knows that Al-Sadd’s focus is not on this game. We are suffering because of the tight schedule. We are now only thinking about the next game against Nasaf (in the AFC Champions League). I hope our players won’t be injured after this game.”

“Our focus now is on the Nasaf game and I hope fortune will favour us, especially after we were unlucky in the recent games that we lost.”

The coach went on to conclude by saying: “Al-Duhail clinched the league after beating us. There were situations that prevented us from competing with them, especially in the last game between us.”
