Al-Sadd hold main training session to prepare for Al-Arabi
The Al-Sadd football first team held its main training session from 6 PM on Thursday at the club’s training pitch to prepare for the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 17 game against Al-Arabi, which will be played on Saturday.
The Wolves will go into the game riding on a wave of success, including the come-from-behind 2-1 win over Al-Wasl in the AFC Champions League. The team is currently ranked second in the QNB Stars League table with 40 points.
Thursday’s training session saw the team work hard on the pitch, amidst an atmosphere of great spirit among everyone in the squad. Before the session started, head coach Jesualdo Ferreira held a meeting with the players to set the team’s objectives in the upcoming game, which will be a huge test for Al-Sadd as they look to close the gap at the top of the table.
The coaching staff made the players undergo a series of tactical drills, in addition to working on their movement, before holding a small-sided practice game in the middle of the pitch.
The players who took part in the last game against Al-Wasl underwent recovery training in order to get rid of fatigue.
Meanwhile, the session witnessed the return of midfielder Ahmed Bader Sayyar after his full recovery following a muscle injury that kept him out of action for the past six weeks.
