Al-Sadd draw 1-1 with Muaither in friendly

Al-Sadd were held to a 1-1 draw by Muaither in a friendly match that was held on Thursday night as part of the preparations for the Super Cup and the QNB Stars League.

This was the second friendly for the Wolves following the return from the preseason training camp in Austria. In the first match, Al-Sadd had defeated Al-Shamal 8-0.

Thursday’s game saw Al-Sadd begin with the following XI: Meshaal Barsham, Ibrahim Majid, Ghassan Waheed, Fahad Shanin, Hatem Kamal, Xavi, Ahmed Sayyar, Yasser Abubakr, Jugurtha Hamroun, Meshaal Al-Shammari, Baghdad Bounedjah

Al-Sadd took control of the match from its beginning, although Muaither did show attacking fervour. Meshaal Al-Shammari opened the scoring for Al-Sadd, netting in the 34th minute. In the second half, Muaither’s Iranian defender Mohsen equalised. The match thus went on to end 1-1.

Hassan Ahmed, Saoud Ibrahim, Ayoob Mashoor and Hussain Bahzaad came on as substitutes in the second half.
