Al-Breik: The match will be tough, we’re capable of reaching the final

Al-Sadd first team manager Abdullah Al-Breik spoke of his confidence in the capability of the Al-Sadd players to perform well against El-Jaish in the semifinal of the Emir Cup, which will be played on Sunday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Speaking to the club website ahead of the match, Al-Breik said: “It will be a difficult match against a good and organized team. Al-Sadd players know their responsibility to get the win and reach the sixth consecutive final.”

The manager went on to add: “Al-Sadd performed strongly throughout the league campaign and also in the Qatar Cup win. Many pundits and analysts said this. The players are proud of their effort.”

Al-Breik also said: “The team’s focus now is on the semifinal match against El-Jaish and they are not thinking about the final. The team’s aim is to give its best in the semifinal and get the win in order to reach the final.”

“Currently we are not thinking of the final or the podium. We must overcome El-Jaish first and this needs focus and priority. We are working on preparing the players for the game and we don’t want to disturb their focus by making them think about various things at once.”

Al-Breik also spoke of the difficulty of the match, saying: “Winning this match will require a lot of concentration and also needs a strong display throughout the match.”

Al-Sadd and El-Jaish have faced each other multiple times in recent weeks and Al-Breik had his say on it: “Every match has its own context and issues. The last two matches were completely different from the next match, which is going to take huge effort in order to win.”

As for the fan support, the manager had this to say: “Our fans don’t need an invitation. They are always there to support the team and to stand alongside them at all times. We are sure that they will attend in huge numbers and they will be a great force of support for the team during the match.”
