Al-Sadd resume training
The Al-Sadd football first team resumed training at 6:30 PM on Tuesday after a 11-day period of rest that followed the 0-0 draw with Umm Salal in Round 23 of the Qatar Stars League.
Ferreira supervises session
The training session on Tuesday was supervised by head coach Jesualdo Ferreira. All the available players attended the session, including midfield star Xavi Hernandez.
Physical training
The coaching staff focused on physical training on Tuesday, especially as the players are returning from a break. They then moved on to technical training with the ball, with a focus on pressing the opponent alongside quick play and movement.
Preparation for Al-Rayyan to continue
The team is scheduled to continue its preparations for the upcoming Round 24 game against Al-Rayyan, which will be played on April 2.
Absence of internationals
The team trained on Tuesday without its international players. 7 Al-Sadd players are currently with the senior Qatar national team, which is preparing to face Iran and Uzbekistan in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. They are: Saad Al-Dosari, Pedro, Hamed Ismail, Ali Asad, Mohamed Kasola, Ibrahim Majid, Hassan Al-Haydos. Three other players are with the Qatar U23 team: Hassan Ahmed, Meshaal Al-Shammari and Hussam Kamal.
Also absent from training were Morteza Pouraliganji and Salem Al-Hajri. Morteza is currently with the Iranian national team which is preparing to face Qatar and China in the World Cup qualifiers while Salem is recovering after undergoing cartilage surgery in February.
