Mohammed Ghanem leads Al-Sadd delegation to Tehran
Led by Head of Football Mohammed Ghanem Ali, the Al-Sadd first team delegation is set to leave for Tehran at 6:30 PM on Sunday aboard a Qatar Airways flight, in order to play the 2017 AFC Champions League playoff match against Esteghlal. The match will be played at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran.
The Al-Sadd delegation consists of team officials and coaching staff, in addition to the 20 players: Saad Al-Dosari, Muhannad Naim, Abdelkarim Hassan, Morteza Pouraliganji, Baghdad Bounedjah, Pedro, Ibrahim Majid, Hassan Al-Hadyos, Ali Asad, Khalfan Ibrahim, Salem Al-Hajri, Meshaal Al-Shammari, Jasir Yahya, Hamza Al-Sanhaji, Xavi, Fahad Al-Qassemi, Mohammed Kasola, Hussam Kamal, Jugurtha Hamroun, Hamed Ismail.
The team officals accompanying the team are Head of Football Mohammed Ghanem Al-Ali, CEO Turki Nasser Al-Ali, sports director Mohammed Gholam Al-Baloushi, first team manager Abdullah Al-Breik, media officer Ahmed Al-Ansari and first team officer Mohammed Saeed Al-Hassan.
The technical staff on the delegation is led by head coach Jesualdo Ferreira and he will be accompanied by his assistant Nuno Miguel, fitness coach Jose Pedro, technical analyst Pedro Antonio, goalkeeper coach Nando Scarpello, team doctor Mohammed Soltani, medical staff Hussain Al-Mannai and Akram Obaid and masseurs Admir and Ritchie. Also accompanying the delegation are the helpers Abdulmalik Waheed, Musa Puthan and Larris Miah. The official club website will be represented by Samir Shawky and Mina Fayiz.
As per the tournament draw, the winner of the match between Al-Sadd and Esteghlal will progress to the group stage of the 2017 AFC Champions League and will play in Group A alongside Al-Ahli (UAE), Al-Taawon (KSA) and Lokomotiv Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
Intense session on Saturday
The first team intensified their preparations on Saturday evening with a training session that began at 6 PM at the club’s training ground. All the stars of the team participated with great spirit as they prepare to give their all against Esteghlal, with an eye on a place in the group stage.
Final session to start at 12 PM
The final training session in Doha will begin at 12 PM on Sunday after which the team will travel to Hamad International Airport at 4:30 PM.
