Meshaal Al-Shammari: Happy to score; we got a deserved win

Al-Sadd forward Meshaal Al-Shammari said that his side’s 1-0 win over Al-Ahli in Round 15 of the QSL was a deserved result. Meshaal’s 56th minute winner kept Al-Sadd in second place in the league table.

Speaking after the match, Meshaal said: “We praise God for the win, which was fully deserved. We got three points which will give us a big boost before the next game against Lekhwiya.”

Asked about the absence of key players in the Al-Sadd team, the youngster said: “The match was difficult; Al-Sadd always play with whoever they have. We await the return of Ali Asad against Lekhwiya.”
