2016/17 Qatar Stars League launched
The Qatar Stars League (QSL) management held a ceremony on Wednesday to mark the official launch of the new 2016/17 season, which kicks off on 15th September. The launch comes amidst heightening excitement ahead of the start of the latest edition, which will see heated competition among the teams as they face off for the title. The coaches of each team expressed their ambitions to compete for the title during a press conference held at the event.
In attendance were QFA member Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Boenain, QFA member and QSL CEO Hani Ballan, QFA General Secretary Mansour Al-Ansari, Disciplinary Committee head Hassan Al-Hammadi, QSL Director of Competitions and Football Development Ahmed Al-Harmi and QSL Head Marketing and Communications Khalifa Al-Haroon.
The event also attended by the football department heads of the clubs, in addition to the coaches and many players, including some new foreign players who have joined the club recently.
Al-Sadd was represented by CEO Turki Al-Ali, head coach Jesualdo Ferreira and first team manager Abdullah Al-Breik.
The event began with the presentation of each team’s coach at a press conference, with the members of the media putting forward their questions ambout the ambitions of the team in the coming season. This was followed by an address by QSL CEO Hani Ballan, in which he welcomed the gathering and expressed his hope of an excellent season.
