Five youngsters with big dreams
The Al-Sadd 2016/17 preseason training camp in Kaprun, Austria is currently progressing in the best way possible, with everyone in the team looking to prepare well for the upcoming season.
Al-Sadd being a club that always relies on its youth graduates, the squad at Kaprun has five youngsters who are excited to be present with the senior team and are striving to make an impression. This group consists of Abdulaziz Al-Hamad, Abdulaziz Al-Jalabi, Mohammed Waad, Ahmed Sohail and Ghassan Waheed. The Al-Sadd official website caught up with the youngsters to know more about them, their dreams and ambitions with the first team in the coming season.
Ahmed Sohail: We aim to attain confidence and give our best
Ahmed Sohail expressed his happiness in being able to participate in the preseason camp for the first time. He pointed out that it is a good opportunity for him to attain experience and confidence and will help him give his best.
Abdulaziz Al-Hamad: Strong preseason, we aim to get full benefit
Meanwhile, Abdulaziz Al-Hamad talked about the difficulty of the preparatory phase and the preseason camp.
“There is a big difference between the training sessions of the youth teams and that of the senior team. There are big stars in the first team and we need to benefit from them and give out best in order to get the trust of the coaching staff and the management.”
Mohammed Waad: Happy to be at my first preseason camp
As for Mohammed Waad, he saw his first preseason camp as a huge opportunity to prove his talent and get a chance to play with the first team. He also added that the camp is progressing well, with sessions that are competitive and hard-fought.
He also said that he learned at Al-Sadd, ever since playing for the youth teams, to always go for the win. He seeks to achieve this with the first team in the new season.
Abdulaziz Al-Jalabi: I hope for the best in my start with the first team
Abdulaziz Al-Jalabi spoke about the intense physical and mental preparation to play alongside the first team in the new season. He stressed that it is difficult to play in the first team with the presence of so many big players with a lot of experience.
He added: “Al-Sadd will go into the season with full force in order to make up for the previous season. We promise the fans of Al-Sadd to give our best and to compete for all tournaments.”
Al-Jalabi also said: “We are having a tough preseason camp and the objective from it is to be fully prepared ahead of the start of the new season.”
Ghassan Waheed: Huge opportunity for me to be with the senior team
Ghassan Waheed is another youngster delighted to receive his chance to play alongside the first team. He hopes to make full benefit of this chance and give his all in order to attain the trust of the coaches.
He said: “The preseason is undoubtedly tough. We need to prepare well so that we can get full benefit from the training and also from the experience of the first team players.” He added that Al-Sadd always plays to reach the top position and that it is the same ambition for the upcoming season.
