Al-Sadd defeats Al-Rayyan 2-1 in QatarGas League Clasico

​Al-Sadd Reserves defeated Al-Rayyan Reserves 2-1 in a competitive QatarGas League Round 8 match played at the Grand Hamad Stadium. The result raised our points tally to 11 from 7 matches with a postponed match against Qatar SC from Round 6 yet to be played.
Al-Rayyan took the lead in the 7th minute through Fahad Khalfan before Saleh Bader struck a quick reply just a minute later to equalize. Rayyan then had a chance to restore their lead when they were awarded a penalty in the 38th minute. However Al-Sadd keeper Muhannad Naim kept out the effort of Ahmed Alaa and the teams went into the tunnel at halftime with the scores level at 1-1.
In the second half, both teams tried hard to score the winner but the half came to be dominated by caution with only a few shots at goal. In the 82nd minute, Al-Sadd got a penalty of their own after Nasser Ibrahim was brought down. Saleh Bader stepped up and converted the penalty, scoring his second goal and gifting his team the winner. Al-Sadd defender Omar Yahya was sent off in injury time but his team were able to get the win.
Al-Sadd Reserves started the match with the following lineup: Muhannad Naim, Abdulrahman Nasser, Gaser Yahya, Ali Faydh, Omar Yahya, Ayoob Mashhoor, Alaadeen Younes, Hassan Ahmed, Saleh Bader, Meshaal al-Shammari, Nasser Ibrahim al-Nasr.
Mohammed Waad, Ghassan Waheed and Hussain Bahzad entered in the second half as substitutes.
