In an intriguing match held on QSL Round 10 match held on Friday night, Al-Sadd lost 2-4 to Lekhwiya at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium. The result kept Al-Sadd at third place in the league standings with 21 points.

Despite the strong start from Al-Sadd which culminated with Nadir Belhadj opening the scoring in the 30th minute, Lekhwiya overturned the deficit through goals from Mohammed Muntari (41st) and Youssef Msakni (57th). Belhadj equalized for Al-Sadd in the 58th before Chico Flores scored the third goal for Lekhwiya in the 84th minute. Nam Taee Hee then added a fourth from a penalty spot in the 92nd minute to end the game with a 4-2 result in favour of Lekhwiya.

The game started with a lot of spirit and passion on show from both sides. However, no real danger was posed until the 14th minute, when Nadir Belhadj came close to opening the scoring only for Lekhwiya keeper Amine Lecomte to charge and divert the ball for a corner.

Al-Sadd dominated midfield in the early parts of the first half while Lekhwiya remained cautious with the occasional penetrative attacks. In the 16th minute, Youssef Msakni had an effort strike the right post, after which Mohammed Muntari sent a shot just wide of the goal.

At the half hour mark, Al-Sadd managed to take the lead when Belhadj sent in a cross from the right. The ball deceived the defence and went in without getting a touch from anyone else, thus opening the scoring for the Wolves. Lekhwiya attempted to respond immediately and went in search of the equalizer. In the 38th minute, Msakni struck from outside the box but Saad al-Sheeb was able to keep it out with a brilliant save.

Lekhwiya continued to keep up the pressure on Al-Sadd and in the 41st minute, Mohammed Muntari scored the equalizer after moving the ball about well and finishing with a great strike. The whistle for halftime followed a few minutes later, with the score still level at 1-1.

The second half kicked off in a fiery manner with both teams determined to get ahead. Lekhwiya who had the better of the chances and Msakni had a shot go just over the bar. The Tunisian then finally managed to give his side the lead in the 57th mintue with a poweful shot from the edge of the box. However, Al-Sadd hit back almost immediately after the restart with Belhadj converting a Xavi pass just a minute later to bring the score back to level terms.

Both teams continued to look for the elusive winner and it was Lekhwiya who managed to score when Chico Flores rose to head past Saad from a corner kick in the 84th minute. Al-Sadd went on the offensive and brought on Hamza al-Sanhaji in the final few minutes but even though the referee signalled four minutes of injury times, the Wolves could not score. Instead it was Lekhwiya who managed to net once again after being awarded a penalty in the 92nd minute. Nam Tae-Hee stepped up and converted it to give his team the final goal of a 4-2 win.
