​FIFA.com, official website of the world football governing body, has reported on the 4-0 victory of Al-Sadd over Mesaimeer in the first round of the Qatar Stars League on Sunday night.
The report pointed to the technical and physical difference between the teams and the control demonstrated by Al-Sadd over the newly-promoted team, that led to the huge victory. Korean defender Lee Jung Soo opened the scoring in the 12th minute, before Muriqui netted a hattrick with strikes in the 39th, 75th and 87th minutes to give Al-Sadd its first three points.
The website also talked of the Spanish star Xavi Hernandez and his great performance in the match, which was his debut outing for Al-Sadd since joining from Barcelona in the summer.
Xavi had a big role in the victory and contributed in creating goals for the team in his first official match.
