Al-Sadd lose to Al-Nassr in preseason friendly

​Al-Sadd football first team was defeated 1-2 by Al-Nassr (KSA) in the first of three preseason friendlies, played as part of the Austrian training camp. The match was held at the Kufstein Arena, which is located at the German-Austrian border, an hour and a half away from the Al-Sadd base in Kaprun.

Al-Nassr took the lead through Mohammed al-Sahlawi in the 30th minute and they ended the first half carrying the single goal advantage. After the restart, Al-Sadd captain and new signing Xavi Hernandez scored the equalizer from a free kick taken from just outside the box. Xavi put the ball beyond reach to the left of the goalkeeper.

Five minutes before the end of the game, Al-Nassr substitute Jumaan al-Dosari managed to net the winner for his team from close range, taking the score to 2-1.

Al-Sadd started the match with the following XI: Saad al Sheeb; Nadir Belhadj, Lee Jung Soo, Abdulkarim Hassan, Musab Khodr; Talal al Baloushi, Xavi (C), Ali Asad; Hamza al Sanhaji, Muriqui, Hassan al Haydos.

The second half saw Al-Sadd introduce 11 new players: Muhannad Naim,Saleh Bader, Abdulrahman Nasser, Omar Yahya, Ayyub Mashhoor, Hamad Mansoor, Ahmed al Hardi, Jaser Yahya, Meshaal al Shammari, Alaa al-Deen Younis, Nasser Sankees.
