Al-Sadd begin training in Kaprun amidst pouring rain

The Al-Sadd football first team launched training proceedings in the Austrian town of Kaprun, which is hosting their foreign training camp. The camp is aimed at preparing for the 2015/16 season and will run from July 25 to August 9.

The Al-Sadd delegation had earlier reached Kaprun at 12:30 PM on Saturday with the team in great spirits. The players are looking forward to giving their best, in line with the ambitions of the club for next season.

The team held their first training session at the Kaprun ground starting from 6 in the evening local time (7 PM Qatar time) and it was held amidst pouring rain that did not stop until the end of the session.

Head coach Hussein Amouta ensured that all players understood the importance of the training camp by speaking to them before the session began. The Moroccan urged them to give their best in order to start the season fully prepared.

The session began with the regular warmup exercises as the club fitness coach Joao ensured that the players recovered from the jet lag and its effects. The team later moved on to training with the ball and the usual regimen, before ending the session with a run along the boundary of the ground.
The Wolves will train tomorrow in two sessions – one in the morning from 10 AM and the second in the evening from 6 PM.

Khalfan in trains by himself

Al-Sadd midfield star Khalfan Ibrahim trained by himself under the supervision of physio Akram Obaid as he prepares to return to normal training after his injury.

Additional training for Lee Jung Soo

The Korean defender Lee Jung Soo underwent additional training as he had joined the team late during the primary training camp in Doha. This comes as the management hopes for all players to be fully ready come the start of the season.

Scarpello trains the goalkeepers

Despite the heavy rain, Al-Sadd goalkeeping coach Nando Scarpello ensured that he completed the training programme for the trio of keepers – Saad al Dosari, Muhannad Naim and Musa Mohammed. The programme involved bettering agility, flexibility and reaction times.

Kaprun ground is just five minutes away from the hotel

The Kaprun football ground is close to the Turn Spa hotel, taking the team just five minutes to get there by bus.

The Al-Sadd team has generated quite a following among the multinational residents of Kaprun, especially as they have trained here for the past four preseason camps. The fans attended the session and took photos with the stars of the team.
